Comparison Of Imagery From A Scanning And A Pushbroom Microwave Radiometer

ثبت نشده
چکیده

The pushbroom radiometer principle has been conceived in order to avoid the mechanical scanning traditionally used in imaging microwave radiometer systems. But does a real life pushbroom radiometer actually work as predicted, producing imagery as we are used to see it from a scanner? To answer this question a 21 channel, 36.5 GHz pushbroom radiometer intended for airborne use has been designed and built. Both this instrument and a 34 GHz mechanically scanned radiometer were flown over a test area in Denmark. Data from the two different instruments has been transformed into false colour imagery and compared.

Accuracy improvement of Best Scanline Search Algorithms for Object to Image Transformation of Linear Pushbroom Imagery

Unlike the frame type images, back-projection of ground points onto the 2D image space is not a straightforward process for the linear pushbroom imagery. In this type of images, best scanline search problem complicates image processing using Collinearity equation from computational point of view in order to achieve reliable exterior orientation parameters. In recent years, new best scanline sea...

ATSR Total Water Vapour Content Retrieval and Comparison with GOME and ATSR Microwave Sounder Data

The Water Vapour estimation from satellite data has been widely discussed in past years and different IR based techniques have been approached by various authors. In our work we estimate the total content of water vapour over sea surface by using ATSR-2 (Along Track Scanning Radiometer) Infra Red imagery. Two different retrieval methods have been applied: one proposed by Ottlé [1] in 1997 and t...

The comparison synthesis of CuNiO2 nanoparticles prepared by sol-gel auto-combu on, microwave and co-precipitation techniques

The CuNiCA nanopanicles have been synthesized by sol-gel auto-combusson. microwave and co-precipitationtechniques. Then, the results of the three techniques were compared. In the vol-ael auto-combustion synthesiswas used glycine as a fuel. At first, sol was prepared. Then, gel was achieved from drying so'. The prepared gelwas burnt at 350°C. In the noicrowavc technique, gel was prepared. Then, ...

Preliminary Validation of Total Water Vapor Column Production of Scanning Microwave Radiometer Onboard HY-2 Satellite

The scanning microwave radiometer (RM) was launched on August 16, 2011, onboard HY-2 satellite. As the one of primary parameters retrieved from HY-2 RM, the sixmonth long from Jan to Jun 2012 global total water vapor column (WV) obtained from HY-2 scanning microwave radiometer were preliminarily validated using other operational spaceborne radiometer observations. The gridded water vapor produc...

Antarctic sea-ice extents and concentrations: comparison of satellite and ship measurements from International Polar Year cruises

Antarctic Sea Ice Processes and Climate (ASPeCt) ship-based ice observations, conducted during the Sea Ice Mass Balance in the Antarctic (SIMBA) and Sea Ice Physics and Ecosystem eXperiment (SIPEX) International Polar Year (IPY) cruises (September–October 2007), are used to validate remote-sensing measurements of ice extent and concentration. Observations include varied sea-ice types at and ins...
